Differences Between Home Staging & Interior Design

There are three main differences between Home Staging are interior design:

  1. Cost

Home staging is more flexible with price, based on the plan you choose. But interior design is has more steady prices. Staging of an empty house can be more expensive.

  1. Purpose

Interior design is intended to reflect your personality and bring comfort to the house, versus home stagers’ mission is to get more money out of your home, focus on specific areas of the house to make it look fancier bigger.

3. Furniture

Your choice of color for home staging is limited to neutral colors, subdued style, to have a mass appeal to each type of buyer.

Also, Lighting is a great tool to impress buyers when you prepare the home for showing. Use of accents lighting to highlight certain spots and furniture’s. Consider enough lighting for all the spots for entire enclosure. Don’t forget task lights under cabinets.  A well-lit property will grab potential buyer’s attention.

In interior design you’re looking for more durable materials (cushions, pillows) while in home staging, quality does not have to be that great.
